Ein iPhone kann mit macOS, einem Stativ und einem geeigneten Verbindungskabel zum Mac als hochwertige Webcam genutzt werden. Voraussetzung ist die Anmeldung mit der gleichen Apple ID und aktuelle Software. Damit ist die Qualität einer Videokonferenz erheblich besser als mit der Standard-Kamera von Mac oder iPad. Außerdem kann die Position der Kamera mithilfe des Stativs auf Augenhöhe eingestellt werden, anstelle der ungünstigen Perspektive von unten.
